The Day of the Triffids!

Here’s just a snapshot of one of the crazy things that can happen when developing!  The maker of C2toDS brings you…

Fun Fact: The Triffid plant in Creatures 2 is believed to have gotten it's name from the novel "The Day of the Triffids" by John Wyndham.

  1. I love that book! I know it's meant as horror but some parts are just funny. The monsters are sunflowers, for crying out loud! Love the way you did them, and the seed-shooting is new right? Looks new.

  2. Triffids did have the sprites to shoot, they just never did. I am including this feature, but not at this rate! lol

  6. What release of Creatures 2 are you using? My GoG version of Creatures 2 will not run emulated in VirtualBox (I was trying ot use VBox because Creatures 2 doesn't work under Wine in Linux). The GoG version of Creatures 2 and 3 still require 16-bit colors too :( ... Unless you know of a work around?

  7. The GoG version of Creatures 2 should run fine on newer systems like Vista and Windows 7 without an emulator, but I know nothing about Linux. Prior to Liam purchasing me a copy of the GoG version of Albian Years (Thanks Liam! <3!!) I was emulating a version of Creatures 2 Deluxe on a Windows XP system inside a VMWare Workstation. There is however, still no work-around for the 16-bit color issue.

  8. Wow, great job Moe! Glad to see things are finally moving along! Sadly though, my C2 GOG version doesn't work on Vista. D: The others work, but for some reason, C2 doesn't. It was my favorite one too!
