Here’s just a snapshot of one of the crazy things that can happen when developing! The maker of C2toDS brings you…
Fun Fact: The Triffid plant in Creatures 2 is believed to have gotten it's name from the novel "The Day of the Triffids" by John Wyndham.
I love that book! I know it's meant as horror but some parts are just funny. The monsters are sunflowers, for crying out loud! Love the way you did them, and the seed-shooting is new right? Looks new.
ReplyDeleteTriffids did have the sprites to shoot, they just never did. I am including this feature, but not at this rate! lol
ReplyDeleteThese videos always make me smile, can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteI think there is one that does shoot like that.. maybe the pears. But not as intense :P
Are the explosions triffid seeds?
ReplyDeleteThe little white "pops"? Yes. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat release of Creatures 2 are you using? My GoG version of Creatures 2 will not run emulated in VirtualBox (I was trying ot use VBox because Creatures 2 doesn't work under Wine in Linux). The GoG version of Creatures 2 and 3 still require 16-bit colors too :( ... Unless you know of a work around?
ReplyDeleteThe GoG version of Creatures 2 should run fine on newer systems like Vista and Windows 7 without an emulator, but I know nothing about Linux. Prior to Liam purchasing me a copy of the GoG version of Albian Years (Thanks Liam! <3!!) I was emulating a version of Creatures 2 Deluxe on a Windows XP system inside a VMWare Workstation. There is however, still no work-around for the 16-bit color issue.
ReplyDeleteWow, great job Moe! Glad to see things are finally moving along! Sadly though, my C2 GOG version doesn't work on Vista. D: The others work, but for some reason, C2 doesn't. It was my favorite one too!
