C2toDS With C1toDS

Since I’m getting tired of hearing about it…

C2toDS DOES NOT WORK WITH C1toDS.

THERE IS NOT, AND WILL NOT BE, A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE, AS THERE IS NO IDENTIFIABLE REASON FOR THEIR INCOMPATABILITY OTHER THAN ENGINE LIMITS. IT IS NOT AN ERROR WITH C2TODS.

You MAY get lucky if you install C1toDS AFTER C2toDS, but even that doesn’t work all the time.

  1. I'm not even sure why you'd want both at once. If you had enough norns to populate both in one world, the game would pretty much slow to a halt. I think that's a limitation of the engine as well, as new, faster computers don't seem to help much.

  2. You're not kidding?!!

I got this for the entire purpose OF having both of these together since I like them both equally AND COULDN'T EVER CHOOSE BETWEEN THEM.

Now you're saying I must choose between them AGAIN?!?! That defeats the entire purpose, I'd rather just take my luck injecting them together!

There MUST be a way to make them compatible, zero reason why there wouldn't be.

  3. You're right, there's zero reason why they wouldn't be compatible. Unfortunately, THAT'S the problem. Sometimes it works, sometimes the engine screams out in agony. There is NO identifiable reason for the incompatibility, thus, there is, as of yet, no way to solve it.

It is MOST LIKELY an ENGINE limit/problem; NOT a CAOS problem. There is nothing that can be done. You may try as you wish to inject them both, and the best of luck to you as sometimes it does work! But if it fails and this disturbs you so greatly that you can't or won't play C2toDS, tough.

  4. Can't you just make two separate worlds, anon...? >_>

  5. I got it to work once. It is really hard to do. Not worth the trouble. You should just pick one or the other.
